ADOPTION DAY

Sydney officially became a Johnson today. It is the best Christmas present Larry and I could ever receive. She did awesome; she showed her beautiful smile for the camera and the whole court room erupted in oohs and ahhs. I don't think Larry or I had a dry eye. We have been trying 43 months to become parents; the natural way and using fertility treatments. The entire adoption process from the very first meeting until today was 20 months.

Madyson's 2nd birthday party

We went to a special friends birthday party last Saturday. Happy 2nd Birthday Madyson!!! Thank you for inviting us; we had a blast. Sydney loved being in the gym; momma especially loved that. She played in the pit, sat on a beam (while daddy was in arms reach), and enjoyed watching all the action going on.

7 month old bunny pictures

Sydney has been sitting up since she was 6 months old so we thought it was time she did her bunny pictures sitting up like a big girl. The week she turned 7 months; she weighed in at 13 pounds.

Couple of Christmas tree pictures

We cannot believe Sydney's first Christmas is fast approaching. Everything about this wonderful time of year is a new experience to her. Larry and I enjoy teaching and spending every moment we can with her. This is truly a magical time of the year.

First Snow

Sydney enjoyed her first snowfall. Momma and daddy wish it would snow more this year so she can go out and enjoy the snow. She loved being out in the snow; especially when it was coming down hard. Sydney was so bundled up she could barely move.

Visit with Santa!

We took Sydney to the lighting of the Christmas tree at the Greenbelt, and Santa Claus came to the library afterwards. We forgot that Sydney is pulling hair and other stuff she can get her hands on, so Santa almost lost his beard.
Sydney had another visit by Santa at home. I had the wonderful honor to put on my late papaw Haggard's Santa suite and have Nancy take pictures of the best present Nancy and I have ever received.

This was a very special moment for me, I am truly blessed to be the daddy of this little angel.

I thought it would be neat to include a couple of older Santa pictures with a little boy I think I know.

We had a busy but awesome Thanksgiving week. Nancy's brother, sister in law and their two girls came into town. Wednesday night we went to Nancy's moms for dinner. Thursday morning we went to Larry's cousins to eat with his uncle, aunt, and couisns. After that we went to Nancy's dad and stepmom's. Thursday evening we went to Larry's mamaw's house. Friday and Saturday were spent traveling and visiting Larry's dad and stepmom's house. Sunday after church we went to the Fantasy of Trees with Nana Jama, Aunt Pamela, and cousin Katelyn.
Sydney did awesome the entire week. Everyone loved seeing her and playing with her. She met some family she never met before. I can not say how blessed we are with our family and friends.

6 month checkup and bunny pictures

Sydney had her 6 month checkup today. She did great for the checkup and shots. Friday we went to the doctor for a sick visit; she has an ear and sinus infection. The ear infection is a minor one, but her first one. Since she never ran a fever we went ahead and did her shots. She also got her 1st seasonal flu shot. The doctor said she will probably be petite but strong.
Sydney is almost as big as her bunny now. Wow, how fast she is growing.
Look closely, she is sitting all by herself in the 6 month pictures. Don't worry, daddy's hand is just out of the camera shot.

Dollywood Nov. 2009

Sydney went to Dollywood for the first time on Saturday. She loved it; she loved being outside, riding the carousel, the train and watching all there was to see. Daddy had to work; we are going back with him to see the Christmas lights soon. We went with Aunt Pamela, cousin Katelyn, and Nana. Cousin Makinley spent the day with Uncle Todd. Both Sydney and Katelyn were perfect the whole trip. It was an amazing day.

Halloween 2009

Sydney's 1st Halloween was spent at Larry's grandmother's house then at Nancy's dad and stepmom's. It was raining outside so we did not go to any houses trick or treating. She had two outfits to wear; a leopard and a lion. We had a great time at both houses. Almost all the cousins were at Nancy's dad and stepmom's.

Halloween Prelude

We are excited about Sydney's 1st Halloween! Here is some pictures of her costumes and some of her Halloween outfits. She has two costumes; a lion and a leopard. It is so exciting to see her grow each and every day. Each day brings something new to her and that is awesome. God is so awesome. We thank him everyday for bringing her to us.
